I am going to work on their 1 v 1 skills. This will build up to 2 v 2 and 3 v 3. I will be concentrating on the defending and attacking side of a 1 v 1. |

Warm-up 11. One player passes the ball to his/her opponent, and goes to defend.2. The player with the ball tries to dribble across the end line. 3. Players defend end line. Focus on: · Defender Close down quickly Set yourself Make the tackle. Warm-up 21. Both players stand side by side.2. One player passes the ball forwards 10 yards. The other player runs to get the ball and dribble back across the end line. 3. If the defender wins the ball, he/she tries to dribble across opposite line. Focus on: Defender Get to the ball quickly Dont let the attacker turn Force play back

Teams 1 and 3 stand either side of the goal with balls. Team 2 stands 30 yards away facing the goals. Have a goalkeeper in goal. Teams 1 & 3 have different colored pinnies than team 2. 1. The first player from team 1 passes to the first player in team 2. They then defend the goal. 2. The first player in team 2 runs to get the ball and play 1 v 1 to score. 3. If the defender wins the ball, they pass to team 2. Team 3 goes next. 4. Change the roles of the teams. Variation: · 2 v 2, 3 v 3 Focus on: · Defenders force the play wide, away from goal. · Keep eye on the ball. · Win the ball. · When 2v2, defenders pressure and cover.

One of the attackers plays against one defender.The attacker tries to dribble across the end goal.Out wide are two defending full backs. Two small goals are placed at the opposite end, 30 yards away. 1. Play starts with the attacker and defender playing 1 v 1 on the one goal. 2. If the defender wins the ball he/she passes to either of the wide full backs, who then attack one of the two goals. 3. The attacker tries to prevent the wide player dribbling across the goal line. Focus on: Force attacker away from goal. Body shape (side on). Decision on when to tackle. Pass to supporting player.

| I continued with the 2 v 2 and 3 v 3 game, but this time used a size 4 ball for each game. I also used 4 goals without GK's. |
