First touch -3

Set up cones 15 yards apart, and place the players as shown. All other players are behind Player one, each with a football, ready to start. Players 2 - 6 are without a football.
  1. Player 1 passes to player 2 and follows his/her pass.
  2. Player 2 takes a first touch and passes to player 3, then follows pass.
  3. The next player at player 1 position can start the exercise.
  4. Passing sequence is 1 - 2, 2 - 3, 3 - 4, 4 - 5, 5 - 6, and Player 6 can either dribble to start or pass to player at start who has no football.
  5. Make sure at the start players are given time to get in position.
Focus on:
  • Quality of pass and first touch

Variation:

  • Go opposite way, Passing sequence 1 - 2, 2 - 6, 6 - 4,   4 - 5, 5 - 3 and player 3 goes to start.
