Counter Attack

  • 8 V 8 with Goalkeepers.
  • 3 players in the back third.
  • 2 players in the middle third.
  • 2 players in the front third.
The ball is started with one of the Goalkeepers who then throws the ball to a defender.

Once a pass has been made to a midfielder one of the defenders joins in the middle third and players 3 v 2.

Once a midfielder passes to a forward then one of the midfield joins in with the attack, playing 3 v 3.

Once possession is lost the defending team must get back to the formation of 3-2-2.

Variation:
  1. Defenders have to make 5 passes before passing to midfield.
  2. Midfielders are only allowed two touches.
