Crossing and finishing 

Place three teams A, B, & C 25-30 yards from goal.

Players 1 and 2 have footballs (about 5-10yards away from group). Players A, B & C set off together:

  1. Player A Runs on an overlap and receives a pass from player 2.
  2. Player B receives a pass from player 1 and shoots at goal. Player B then moves in a position to attack the back post.
  3. Player C runs to attack front post.
  4. By the time player A comes to cross the ball, players B & C should be in position.
  5. One player then gets the ball and players go back and join a different team.
Variation:
  • Work the opposite side.

Focus on:

  • Timing of runs
  • Movement
  • Quality of cross and shot
  • Communication
